Batik Panji, a World Class Batik that Took Your Breath Away

TIMESINDONESIA, BATU – Batu had just had its Nusantara Batu Hybrid Event. This event was to show the local products that worth the world attention. And one of them is Batik Panji Pak Sumari. It's a piece of batik with beutifully drawn pattern on white cloth.

The event which was held for 3 days from 25-27 August 2022 has taken so much attention from the local community or even foreign tourist. The products displayed has enlighten their view about how diverse is the local product and how good is their quality.

Batik Panji of Pak Sumari was one of the best product that highlight the event. Pak Sumari, the man behind the batik explained the detail of his batik. He said that the batik represent Batu city in general.

In his batik, Pak Sumari drew some iconic products of Batu like the famous apple Batu and punten orange. He also added a silhouette of the local farmers picking the apple.

"The red and orange combination on the color was just to light up the color, and blue makes it more calming and bring a soothing atmosphere," Pak Sumari showing the batik he made during the expo.

The price depends on how complicated is the pattern. The more complicated the more expensive it is. Pak Sumari spill out that he managed to sell one of his batik for IDR 5 million per piece. And that's surely a thing to be proud of.

Though Nusantara Batu Hybrid Event has been ended you could still get Batik Panji of Pak Sumari on his workshop at Jalan Arjuno RT 14 RW 03 Pandanrejo, Bumiaji, Batu. For your information, up until now Pak Sumari has managed to export his batik to foreign countries such as Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, Holland and more. (*)
