World Muslim League Officially Declared as PBNU Partner at R 20

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Rabithah A'lam Islami or World Muslim League announced their conjoint with PBNU for R20 (Religion 20) meeting. The meeting will be held in Bali on November 2022. This partnership will give them a brighter and stronger idea toward religious issues nowadays.

Both PBNU or World Muslim League was determined to be one good facilitator especially if it discussed about religious issue. "World Muslim League has worked so hard to draw together certain religious or multicultural issue on a discussion table,"  the Secretary General of World Muslim League, Syaikh Mohammad Al-Issa  said on Thursday (18/8/2022).

This consolidation of two big muslim organizations was expected to be able to tackle some extreme threat and discrimination. "Working with Nahdlatul Ulama is a fair thing and it will just keep us stronger," as the syaikh said at NU Online.

The R 20 was also considered a perfect moment to do such affiliation. For your information, there will be loads of issue discussed by world's leaders during this meeting. During the R 20 meeting, Al-Issa will be partnered with the Chairman of PBNU Yahya Cholil Staquf as co-chair.

Meanwhile Yahya said that as the biggest counttry with the most muslim population in the world Indonesia will have such an interesting geopolitical issue. The wide range of ethnic and religion in the country was also becoming their main consideration why the have to ally with World Muslim League.

"We have to get a partner that gives us more privilege as a muslim country in this meeting. That why we have World Muslim League from Saudi Arabia on our side. As we know they are the most significant country in Islamic world," Yahya said.

Still according the Chairman of PBNU, the sign of change of Islam in Saudi Arabia shown by World Muslim League must to be followed to keep them in track with them. This cooperation was stated to stay on this way for the next 3 years. (*)
