TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Zahria Febrianti, a 10 year old girl has stunned people with her skill as a puppeteer in West Nusa Tenggara. Her ability in playing the local puppets has made the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno praised her for it.
This girl showed her dexterity in playing the puppets in front of the minister while he visited Buwun Sejati Tourism Village, Narmada, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara on Saturday (25/6/2022). This 3rd grade student manage to captivate everyone with her finesse.
To achieve what she had now, Zahria has joined a puppeteer class at the village since such a young age. Zahria was not the only child joining the class, just like her, some local kids also joining the class and willing to conserve the local culture with their skill.
On the occasion, Zahria who wear some typical puppeteer costume show with a bright and attractive color accompanied by Sukardi, her mentor during the class. She chose a religious story with some moral value to be taken into her performance.
She told the story in a such an interesting way as a professional dalang or puppeteer would do. "They are an asset to conserve the local culture," The minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiago Uno praised Zahria performance.
