UIN Maliki Malang Creates Soaps from Pineapple Peel
TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – UIN Maliki Malang or the Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang which also known as UIN Malang had just hold a social service to help the local more independents and have more skill. This time they hold it at Bahrul Ulum Al-Fattah Islamic Boarding School, Ganjaran, Gondanglegi, Malang.
The social service which was on Friday (3/6/2022) took some of the students to create eco enzymes and soap made of pineapple peels. "This was to educate the students about eco enzyme and its important as well the proper way to produce it," Muthmainnah, a physics lectures at UIN Maliki Malang said.
During the occasion some professionals of UIN Maliki Malang also hold a short workshop to explain about the importance of eco enzyme for the community. They also led the students to create their very own soap from the pineapple peels.
According to Dr. Agus Mulyono, M.Kes, a professionals from UIN Malliki Malang said that it's so easy to create the eco enzymes. All you need is 1:3:10 ratio. 1 part brown sugar added with 3 parts of pineapple peel, and 10 part of water.
Mix them all up and seal them and store it in a low light intensity for about 3 months. Let it fermented and once its done, strain the water and your eco enzyme is ready to be used. For your information, eco enzyme could be used as the basic ingredients for soap, disinfectant, insecticide, or may be floor cleaner.
To make a soap, Agus Mulyono of UIN Maliki Malang said that beside the eco enzyme which was made of pineapple peel they will need some other ingredients like coconut oil, alkali, water, and perfume. This will be an eco friendly soap for your tropical skin.
