Menag Yaqut: Ascension Day is the Best Way to Start Living in Harmony

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – The Minister of Religious Affair or Menteri Agama who also known as Menag Yaqut Cholil Qoumas stated his world in commemorating the Ascension Day. In his speech, he said that this day also become a good time to strengthen the bound between Christian with another believer of other religion.

"I hope that the Christian will stay contributing and determined to keep the good relationship they have with another believer from other religion for the sake of the country," Menag Yaqut said on Thursday (26/5/2022).

Ascension Day in the country always fall on Thursday around 40 days after Easter. It stated as one public holiday which could be enjoyed by everyone in the country. It is widely celebrated by the Christian and Catholic across the country with some feast and attending some service in a church.

For this day, Yaqut also stated some message of love and compassion and the glory of God. As we all know, Christian believe that ascension is one of the milestone in Jesus lives apart of another four such as baptism, transfiguration, crucifixion, and resurrection.

"Happy Ascendion Day 2022 for Christian, let's live in peace and harmony. Let's all take part in creating a peaceful country," Menag Yaqut ended. (*)
