Looking for the Trace of Caveman at Gua Lawa Sampung Ponorogo

TIMESINDONESIA, PONOROGO – For those who loves to hunt some ancient trace of cavemen or those who need to learn some history, you need to visit Gua Lawa Sampung Ponorogo. Gua Lawa or literally means as Bat Cave will fill your thirst of ancient handprints.

Located at Sampung, Ponorogo, East Java, this cave situated in the middle of local forest. You need to walk around 700 meters to reach the cave from the nearest village. Beware when it comes to rainy season, the path to the cave will be a bit slippery and harder to pass through.

In this cave, you will not only found some ancient handprints, some old artifacts could also be found in this cave. Some  old  arrow, knife and some ancient pan for hunting and cooking could also be found in this area. Human skeleton also becomes one interior of the cave.

"This place located near to a water source, and it’s a nice place for a shelter. These might become the reasons why those caveman chose this place to stay," Dodi Tri Handoko, the manager of Gua Lawa Sampung said.
