The Ultimate Recipe of Sweet And Spicy Sautéed Tempeh
TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Tempeh has been well known by Indonesia. It's made of fermented soy beans and high in protein. However there are some certain ways to cook tempeh other than just deep fry it. One them is by making it as sweet and spicy sautéed tempeh. So, what are the recipes for this sweet and spicy tempeh? Let's check it out.
All you need to do it just prepare a set of tempeh as the main ingredients. Cut in dice, or slice it whatever you like. Make sure the shape could absorb all the ingredients easily after being cooked. Grab 3 pieces of cayenne pepper, 1 paprika and 3 tablespoon of soy sauce.
You will also need 3 clove of garlic and 3 clove of shallot, a teaspoon of sugar, a tablespoon of salt, chicken block, and a slice of galangal. You could add some yard long bean or stinky bean if you like, some fried anchovy also preferable if you like.
First and foremost fried the tempeh till it's half cooked or depend to your taste. Minced the garlic and shallot. Dice the cayenne pepper and paprika. Also cut long the long bean and sticky bean if you like to add them. Heat the pan, and sautéed them all for about 5 minutes with 3 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Add half glass of water, chicken block, salt, sugar, soy sauce and the galangal. Simmered till the water vapored. Let it sit and caramelized a little. Adjust the taste. And if you think it's good enough then your sweet and spicy sautéed tempeh is ready to serve. Serve it with warm rice. Happy cooking.(*)
