TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Vegan nuggets are pretty popular among the peoples these days. This deep fried snack contains soy and plant proteins which suit to those vegetarian taste. And Burger King of UK has brought this food into their menu to pamper all those vegan.
in the last two years, Burger King had tried to make the plant-based Rebel Whopper burger. But it failed due to the grilling technique and the vegetarian seemed didn’t approve the taste. That type of burger became unsuitable for the vegetarians after few days after release.
Burger King UK planned to make all their menu 50% meat-free. Later, it was expected to be able to reduce 41% of greenhouse gas emissions. This new vegan menu were expected to fill the need of vegan foods by more than 600.000 vegetarian in UK.
“A significant milestone for the company and an important next step in achieving our target of a 50% meat-free menu by 2030,” said Alasdair Murdoch, The Chief Executive of the Burger King UK.
Other than Burger King, there has been lots of restaurant in UK that served vegan menu for the vegetarians. Let's say Mc Donald, Domino’s Pizza and some more. This vegan nugget will surely be a nice alternative menu for those vegetarian. Let's hope it goes to Indonesia soon. (*)
