Archipelago International Held Barista Competition at Royal Malioboro by ASTON

TIMESINDONESIA, YOGYAKARTA – In order to find a new face in Barista world Archipelago International held Yogyakarta Barista at Royal Malioboro by ASTON on Wednesday (8/12/2021). This competition were followed by all barista from hotel Archipelago International in Central Java and Yogyakarta.

This competition will short the best barista amongst the best. They were asked to brew and serve the best coffee and pair it with the local indigenous herbs and spices. For all this time, adding the local herbs and spices has turned some food and beverage into a special one with a slice of Indonesian taste.

The participants were also taken Blackbox Mocktail and Coffee Art session to show their skill and give the best to the judges. This part were aimed to find the new taste and best way of serving a cup of coffee to their customers.

I Made Sumardika, the Corporate Food and Beverages Manager, Archipelago International said that this event was the first event they held during this pandemic. "We hope that we could bring the spirit of competition and highlight their skill to the surface," he said.

During the Barista Competition, Royal Malioboro by ASTON also hold CSR  program by handing some basic necessity during this pandemic. They deliver some coffee, jiuice, tissue, and hand sanitizer to those local street vendors and pedicab driver around Malioboro.
