Visit These Public Parks in Surabaya During Your Spare Time

TIMESINDONESIA, SURABAYA – With the lower spike of Covid-19 spread in the city, the local government of Surabaya decided to opens 8 of 39 public parks they have in the city. This will be such a fresh air for the local community for they now be able to enjoy their time hanging out in the parks.

Those 8 parks are Taman Flora, Taman Sejarah, Taman Cahaya, Taman Harmoni, Taman Pelangi, Taman Kebun Bibit, Taman Prestasi, and Taman Ekspresi. You now could bring your kids to play and breath some fresh air to get away from the boredom.

"The Covid-19 Task Force has done their examination to these 8 parks. We also allow kids under 12 to play in these parks with their parent's supervision," Anna Fajriatin the Head of Dinas Kebersihan dan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (DKRTH) Surabaya said.

Meanwhile, for those parents and adults should have been vaccinated and show their certificate before entering the parks. There will be some officers stand on the gate to make sure that they have been vaccinated and to remind them to always follow the safety guidelines. 

Anna also explained that in the future they could open a vaccination on the spot for those who haven't been vaccinated. The opening of the parks were expected to encourage the locals to join Covid-19 vaccination.

However, these public parks of Surabaya hasn't been fully opened like it was on normal days. These parks will be opened in two shift, the first shift will be started from. 06.00 a.m to 11.00 a.m. and the second shift will be on 13.00 p.m to 17.00 p.m. And, your time of visit will be limited to only 30-60 minutes.(*)
