Iron-Packed Foods for Combatting Anemia
TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Fatigue, dizziness and headache may be the symptoms of anemia.
Anemia occurs when there are not enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen to your body’s organs. You can start easing the symptoms of anemia by consuming foods that are high in iron.
As quoted from the official Instagram account of Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, here are several iron-packed foods that you can consume regularly to ease the symptoms of anemia.
1. Green vegetables
Green vegetables, such as broccoli and spinach are high in iron. They may be consumed daily to ease the symptoms of anemia.
2. Red beans
You can eat two and half portions of red beans to increase the iron level in your body.
3. Red meat
Red meat does not only contain iron but also other nutrients, such as amino acid, vitamin B2, and zinc.
4. Sea food
Seafoods, such as crab, shrimp, and squid contain high level of iron.
