Gado-Gado Cendol, the Most Bestselling Gado-Gado in Pacitan
TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Gado-Gado Cendol in Pacitan, East Java, has become the most bestselling dish in Pacitan. This dish is famous for its distinctive taste and its level of spiciness.
Gado-Gado Cendol is an Indonesian salad of lontong (rice wrapped in a banana leaf), tofu, served with some peanut sauce dressing made of garlic, red chilli pepper, peanuts, brown sugar, and salt. Usually, this dish has some vegetables and shrimp crackers as it toppings.
Gado-Gado Cendol has a strategic location, which is in front of animal market, on Jalan Punung-Gondosari.

“One portion of Gado-Gado costs IDR 7,000. You may also add some boiled egg for IDR 10,000 per portion. The level of spiciness can be adjusted, very hot, mild, or not spicy,” said Dwi Oviana, the owner of Gado-Gado Cendol.
Gado-Gado Cendol opens daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. WIB (Indonesian Western Time). Usually, the menu is sold out before afternoon.
“Mostly, my customers order it online from WhatsApp,” Dwi Oviana said.
Gado-Gado Cendol also has other menu such as Kupat Tahu (Indonesian dish consisting rice cake and tofu served with peanut sauce), Lontong Kari (curry rice cake), Cendol Dawet (pandan jelly served in coconut milk), iced tea, coffee, and Es Campur Ketan Hitam (mixed shaved ice with black glutinous rice).
