Kampung Kayutangan Heritage Malang, the Little Amsterdam van Java

TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – Kampung Kayutangan Heritage Malang has become one iconic tourist destinationint he city. This iconic place has a historical value where most of the building were an old building which was build during the colonial time.

The architecture resemble those building you have seen in Amsterdam, Holland. No wonder the local community and some of the tourists called this place as The Little Amsterdam van Java.

"This place has taken more attention from the stakeholders. And along with it, the local government pat more attention to this village, and then they support this bills to be established," Herman, the Deputy Manager of Kampung Kayutangan Heritage said on Saturday (25/5/2021).

They have built a bridge that look like those bridge you found in Europe. The local community works together to set everything in place. Especially during this closure for Covid-19. All the renovations took no more than 7,4 months.

The fence, sidewalk, the canal, and some lights were made so that it looks like European city. They also planned to make a canal like those they have in Venice along with its canoe.

The management also planned to add some mural painting around the area. "The mural will be paint as exotic as possible with old traditional nuance. It will be placed on those empty walls," Herman added.

To accomodate the tourist with some local culinary, the management also thought of building a cafeteria which present the local delicacy. But if they couldn't found the right place, the local could just open their stall at their own terrace.

"No more people open their stall at the street. We will list them and check them occasionally. And we will ensure the cleanliness and make Kampung Kayutangan Heritage a worth place to visit in Malang," Herman ended. (*)
