With Unique Flavors, Mangrove Banana Chips Enlivened Culinary in Probolinggo

TIMESINDONESIA, PROBOLINGGO – Culinary innovation in Probolinggo brought up a unique snack, namely the Mangrove banana chips. Made from jackfruit plantain combined with mangrove syrup, this snack is much sought after for souvenirs.

Started from the demands from her customers, Fenty Dyah Sari, the owner of UD Fendysa is now producing the mangrove banana chips. Through a series of trial processes, several varieties of flavor for the banana chips are now available.

“Mangrove banana chips are the combination of jackfruit plantain and mangrove syrup. The syrup is made from mangrove fruits that come with its distinguished taste,” said Fenty, Saturday (22/5/2021).

Fenty explained that the production of mangrove banana chips was started in 2011 with four flavors available.

Not only available in Probolinggo, but Fenty also mentioned that the marketing of mangrove banana chips that packed into the air-tight aluminum foil packaging is also available for purchase all across Indonesia, thanks to online shop platforms. Available for IDR10,000, you can enjoy 100 grams of a unique Indonesian snack.

“We also participated in the Probolinggo souvenirs festival. In 2011, we were awarded second place,” said Fenty.

She also claimed that she often participates in souvenir exhibitions organized by the city governor of Probolinggo.

“Our products, especially our mangrove banana chips are often used by the service or private agencies for their goodie bags,” explained the owner of UD Fendysa that located in Jalan Raden Wijaya Wirojayan Asri Housing Block 3 no. 17, Wiroborang, Mayangan, Probolinggo, East Java. (*)
