Kalongan Waterfall Banyuwangi Has Been Reopened for Public

TIMESINDONESIA, BANYUWANGI – Kalongan Waterfall might not be popular for the tourist for its health been closed for bout 20 years. This place has always been a favorite for the local community of Banyuwangi to spend their time spare time or  on the weekend.

Located at Pesucen, Kalipuro, Banyuwangi, East Java the local tourism awareness community has tried to bring back this place to life. They have targeted to finish the renovation before Eid al-Fitr comes.

This was meant so the visitors could enjoy the beauty of the waterfall by Eid al-Fitr. This place will be a place to remind them a boutique the past for the older. Yet, will be a nice interesting place to get some solemnity or have fun with firends for the youngsters.

Back then, this place could be said as the most popular tourist destination in Banyuwnagi. And this is what the local community trying to achieve back. They all gathered and make groups that they divide to work in shift. 

They cleaned they weed and grass and repair some construction to make it worth the visit. "The vome here with their own group to work on this renovation," Hujaini, a local community said on Friday (30/4/2021).

Maksum, the Chief off Pesucen village said that they planned to added some cafeteria and souvenir shops into the area. "This was ti support the local community with their economy," he said.

Maksum also said that they planned to make a huge natural pool with Kalongan Waterfall Banyuwangi water as the main source. This will be a nice place to enjoy the waterfall while dipping your body in it. "We will also build instal some water sport equipment on it," he added.(*)
