Get an Exotic Taste of Beef Satay at Warung Sate Gebug Malang

TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – Malang seems never runs out of restaurant which serves delicious food to taste. Either its the new or the old restaurant, they seems like to compete to serve the best taste to their customers. Including what Warung Sate Gebug did.

Located at Jalan Basuki Rahmat 113 A, Malang, this restaurant has been established since 1920. A couple named Yahmon and Karnuwati decided to buy this place and opened their business back then.

Since it was firstly bought by the couple, the building only get some minor renovation and leaves the main building stays just like it's original look. It gave the restaurant some modest and humble look yet with extraordinary taste of food.

Sate gebug or beef satay itself has become the signature dish of the restaurant since it was firstly opened. The nice and tender meat combined with the local herbs and spices will make your mouth watering all the time.

The smell of the roasted skewered beef will make your belly growling all the time. Once it served with the sauce, gravy and all the companion dishes including rice as the staple food, you will just grab it fast and started to dig in.

Beside the satay Gebug, the restaurant also have another dish you need to try. They have some beefy dishes such as beef soup, beef soto, and rawon (beef served with dark soup). 

In a day, the restaurant could spend around 40 kg of beef to be served to their customers. For now, the retaurantbis managed by the third generation of the first owner named Kabir. In his hand, the taste of this exotic dish kept just like his granny recipe.

The restaurant opens daily from 08.00 to 16.00 local western time. The price is quite affordable. For  a set of Sate Gebug of Malang you could have it for IDR 25 k to IDR 30 K. Meanwhile for sto or rawon you could have starting from IDR 15 K. (*)
