TMMD 110 Kodam Brawijaya, a Solution for Some Issues in the Community

TIMESINDONESIA, SURABAYA – Tentara Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) or the community service program by Kodam V/Brawijaya has become one solution to answer some issue happens in communities especially in rural area in East Java. This program give some hope to the community especially toward some social and infrastructural issue.

This program has been conducted since then since New Order Era. Unfortunately the 110th TMMD in East Java should be conducted during the pandemic. However, that doesn't mean that the program has to be postponed or failed to help the local community.

The program was conducted for a full month, from March 2-31 2021. This time, this community service program was conducted in 5 territory. It was Jember, Bondowoso, Pacitan, Sumenep dan Bojonegoro.

During the program, several soldiers were deployed to villages to build infrastructure. Some local officials were also involved on the process. They help each other during the construction to make it faster and easier to be done.

“We put the the mutual cooperation between one another during the process. It makes the work done right on time,"  The Chief of Information Department of Kodam V/Brawijaya, Kolonel Arm Imam Haryadi said on Sunday (4/5/2021).

The Colonel explained that the construction has helped the local community to have a better public facilities. Those river dredging at Ngrancan, Tambakrejo, Bojonegoro, East Java for instance. This has helped the local out of their worried of flood during the rainy season.

Before, the local community seems like always having problem with some water flood from the river that flows to their field. But now, they could erase all those worries from losing their field or unable to harvest their plants.

Not only the soldier, in this case the local community also help them to build their area. Just like what happened in Dasuk laok, Dasuk, Sumenep, East Java. "They worked hand in hand helping one another to make sure the construction were done properly," Kolonel Arm Imam Haryadi added.

During this pandemic, this community service program were somehow equipped with some health professionals from the TNI. They checked all the crew as well the local communities' health to make sure their safety during this pandemic.

Last but not least, The Chief of Information Department of Kodam V/Brawijaya, Kolonel Arm Imam Haryadi said that Tentara Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) will be a way to answer some issue appeared in the local community. "This community service program brings the military and local community closer," he ended. (*)
