TIMESINDONESIA, BLITAR – Es pleret is a tasty local beverage of Blitar. This beverage has become one favorite thing to serve either in a hot day of summer of on the wettest day of rainy season.
The locals mostly will tend to have this authentic drink cold. It consists of the pleret (steamed rice flour dough), dawet (rice flour jelly), coconut milk, palm sugar syrup, and some ice cube.
You could find this tasty rich drink in almost every corner of Blitar from the street vendors to restaurants. You could find it easier at the central park or Alun-Alun Blitar.

"Lots of people will come here on weekend, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday," Rohimah one of the Es pleret vendor "Es Pleret 16" of Alun-Alun Blitar said on Saturday (27/3/2021).
Rohimah also said some people would love to combine the drink with some other festive such as
serabi, cendol, mutiara, or janggelan (grass jelly). But some will just tend to have the original one.
Kristin, a fan of es pleret said that she has had this tasty sweet and savory drink since he was a child. "It's good, and its use natural ingredients, so I have no worry about it," Kristin, a local customer said.
For a set of es pleret of Blitar, the local vendor will charge you for IDR 5 K. This humble beverage is the one that you should try when you visit the city, so that you feel the authenticity of Blitar culture and warmth. (*)
