Warung Yu Wur Lamongan Serves an Affordable Local Delicacy

Located at Krajan, Sukobendo, Mantub, Lamongan, East Java, Warung Yu Wur has become a favorite place for those travelers to pamper their belly. This restaurant only serve one signature dish  lontong sayur (steamed rice cake with curry stew).

Don't expect a nice cozy dining like those you found in modern cafe or restaurant when you go here. In this restaurant you will be taken to feel the local wisdom by sitting on a mat on the floor and enjoy your meals.

But the most surprising element is the price of the food. For a set of lontong sayur, you will only need to pay for IDR 5 K. You will do a buffet style by taking your own lontong and the veggies according to your taste.

Not only those conveniences, your eyes will be mesmerized with the conventional way of cooking the restaurant has. Yes, they still use fire pit to cook those dishes.

The aroma of the charcoal and burned wood makes the food taste millions way better than those homey food with modern stove. "I keep the conventional way because its affecting the taste," Yu Wur, the nickname of the owner of the restaurant said.

Warung Yu Wur had been established since 1970. It has had it's own loyal customers.  Unfortunately this restaurant not open daily, only on Wage and Legi (the name of the day at lunar lunar calendar).

During those days, it will open around 6 p.m local western time till all the food vanished. "We usually could spend around 700 pieces of lontong and 3 bucket of curry in a day," Yu wur added.

Meanwhile, beside the lontong sayur, you could also enjoy some other local delicacies such as gembrung, lupis, gempo and klepon. All those delicious food and kue at Warung Yu Wur Lamongan could enjoyed in such a very affordable price. (*)
