Allergy and Its Symptoms

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Each allergy has it's own symptoms. But most are almost the same. However, each people will take it differently. Some people will have minor irritation but some will take it in different way that it endangers their safety.

We will list you kinds of allergy and its symptoms according to Mayo Clinic. Remember, not everyone will develop the symptoms in the same way. Check them out.

Hay fever

Hay fever is also known as allergic rhinitis. You could develop some symptoms such as sneezing, and itching of the nose, eyes or roof of the mouth. Either those stated before, sometimes you will also have runny or stuffy nose, and or watery, red or swollen eyes (conjunctivitis).

Allergy to Food

Some people will develop allergy to some food such as milk, chocolate,  peanut, shrimp and more. Commonly the symptoms will be tingling in the mouth, swelling on the lips, tongue, face or throat and sometimes hives. The worse thing people could get anaphylaxis from this allergy.

Allergy to insect sting

Some people will develop allergy when they bitten by insect.  Mosquitoes are the most common cause for this allergy.  This allergy can cause a large area of swelling (edema) at the sting site, itching or hives all over the body, cough, chest tightness, wheezing or shortness of breath and anaphylaxis.

Allergy to drug

Sometimes, certain drug could cause someone to develop allergy. The symptoms will vary starting from hives, itchy skin, rash, facial swelling  wheezing, or anaphylaxis.  Doctors usually will test their patient with some medications first before they treat them further.

Atopic dermatitis

Also called eczema. This is an allergic skin condition. Normally it will take longer to cure than the other kind of allergy. Could be in a week or months.  This allergy could cause some itch, redden, flake or peel of your skin. (*)
