This Lady Turns Oyster Mushroom into Irresistible Crispy Snack
TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – How do you usually have your mushroom? Sautéed? Added with creamy pasta? Oh well that’s an old school way to have your mushroom. But have you ever try the crispy one made of oyster mushroom?
For those who haven’t been familiar with oyster mushroom, it’s a common edible mushroom with a big size. It could grow a big as your hand palm and looks more like an umbrella.
Hesti Siamsiah, a local lady of RT 03 RW 04 Tegalkamulyan, Cilacap Central Java makes use of her spare time to turn this delicious oyster mushroom into super crispy snack. This snack will be a best treat to accompany your movie time.
Before, Hesti just focus her business on mushroom house. She grows the mushroom and distributes it to the local market.
As the pandemic struck the country, she lost some of her income and thought of another idea. She turns the mushrooms into more valuable product. Little did she expected, she receive good response from the public.
“I go for 10 kg of mushrooms to be fried daily. And it helps a lot to support our daily needs,” Hesti said.
She also keeps growing the mushrooms by her own with the help of the family. By growing the mushroom by herself she could minimize the production cost and get more profit from the crispy oyster mushroom. (*)
