Black Friday is an informal name for the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in America which is celebrated on the fourth Friday of November which will happen on November 27 this year. It will be a nationwide shopping spree! People will burst into mall and store just to get things with tremendous discount. Some even have to have a quarrel and fight for certain thing they wanted
Kicking Kids Out at 18
In Indonesia, family is everything. Staying with your parents till you are married is one common thing to see. Especially for the last kids, they will usually stay with their parents for the rest of their life. But in America, at the age of 18, kids are booted out of the house to start their own life. While it's true the age is getting closer to 21 at this point, many people still tell their kids to get their own place at 18.
Moving Around
Depending on the country, some people find it really odd that American uproot their lives and just move to a new state. It isn’t strange for someone to be born in Michigan but move their entire life to Colorado. Then, later in their lives, move again to Texas. It’s in their blood.
American Flag Decor
In Indonesia, using national flag for décor could be called as offensive. But in America, you might be easily to spot flag pattern on bathing suits to home decor. The American flag has become a major style and fashion statement in the United States.
Groundhog Day
Groundhog Day is a popular tradition in America which holds on February 2. This cultures derives from the Pensylvanian superstition that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day sees its shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat to its den and winter will persist for six more weeks. But if it does not see its shadow because of cloudiness, spring will arrive early. (*)
