Southeast Maluku to Develop Digital Tourism Village
TIMESINDONESIA, MALUKU TENGGARA – Southeast Maluku Regency is welcoming the digital era by establishing digital-based tourism, including the preparation of communication technology infrastructure for tourism villages, as stated by the Regent of Southeast Maluku, M. Thaher Hanubun in the virtual discussion on tourism village development on Friday (9/10/2020).
Currently, there are 23 tourism villages in Southeast Maluku that are being developed. Two out of the 23 villages still have no internet access, Thaher Hanubun stated.

The telecommunication network development done by the regional government is expected to improve the tourism quality in Southeast Maluku.
Regarding to this development, the regent of Southeast Maluku supports the program proposed by Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) to accelerate the digital tourism village development.
Furthermore, Thaher Hanubun also explained how the regency is preparing the digital tourism village, starting from the establishment of telecommunication infrastructure.
“Around 90% of the tourism villages already have the internet access,” he stated.
In addition, there has been a tourism destination that applies digital-based smart tourism, Ngurbloat Beach. All o the information related to its facilities and fees is available on the website www.ngurbloat.com.
Hanubun expected this virtual discussion will be the source of creative ideas and useful concepts for the development of tourism villages in Southeast Tenggara. (*)
