The 6th Geobike Kaldera Toba, a Way to Bring Back the Tourists to Toba Lake

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Rumah Karya Indonesia a local group of community in Toba Lake, West Sumatra held sport tourism entitled The 6th Geobike Kaldera Toba last week on September 4-6 2020. This event was also supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf).  

The event was aimed to attract more tourists to visit Toba Lake and enjoy the beauty. For your information, Toba Lake is one attraction that included as one package with Toba Caldera UNESCO Global Geopark.

“The community has been crazy for bike as one easy sport to do to keep them fit all day. It’s a new lifestyle. And we took a chance on it,” Director of Tourism Promotion for Special Interest Adella Raung said on statement.

This event was followed by around 50 people of local government, local bikers, and some staff that in charge for Kaldera Toba Geopark matters and some more. They intended to limit the number of the participants to control the safety.  

During the event the participants were brought to enjoy a beautiful track which has all local elements of Geodiversity, Biodiversity, and Culture diversity. They were taken to several Geosites and taste the local culinary delicacy.

The 6th Geobike Kaldera Toba of Toba Lake also held a talk show Clean, Health, Safety & Environmental Sustainability after the event. They also pamper the participants with local traditional dance and performance. (*)
