TIMESINDONESIA, JOMBANG – Suyanto (45) turns his yard at Pengajaran, Galengdowo, Wonosalam, Jombang, East Java into an orchid garden. His love of orchid and long years of experience as orchid gardener makes him decided to use his house as an orchid sanctuary.

He started planting some orchid around32 years ago and chose to make it as his business. Several people from the local community to the neighborhood city have become his loyal client as love his orchid.

Most of the orchids are local orchid he found from Wono Forest of Mount Anjasmoro. “I spend most of my days at the forest to find the local orchid and cultivate it,” Suyanto said on Sunday (6/9/2020).

His neighbors even called him as “The man of the jungle”. Not because they are being mean, but it’s just their way to express their feeling towards their lovely neighbor. “Sometimes I bring my kids with me to introduce them with the nature and an art of orchid,” he added.

You could have the orchid starting from IDR 30 K to millions rupiah. Suyanto routinely included his orchid on an exhibition to introduce his orchid to the public.
