TIMESINDONESIA, PULAU MOROTAIMorotai, North Maluku is an eccentric Island with dozens of wonderful scenery that will surely make your day. One of them is World War II Museum in Daruba Regency.

This museum was officially opened in 2012 by the President of Indonesia at that time. The government choose this exotic island to put on the museeum since this island itself is a living witness of World War II.

The US Army and Navy even make this island as their base for several month. Located in 2 hectares area this Museum holds several historical antiques from the World War II.

Unfortunately, the condition is not very good right now. This museum surely need more attention from the government. Lots of hole here and there especially on the roof and ceiling.

The water even drip from the roof when it's raining. The government planned to rebuild the museum by the beginning of 2021. "You could see it for yourself, every little thing in this museum will be it soon after the rain comes," the Head of Tourism and Cultural Department of Morotai, Arifin Yusup said.

However, the visitors seem still very enthusiastic to visit the museum. Lots of them coming to admire those historical value of World War II Museum of Morotai. Even several public figure also visit this museum whenever they visit this exotic island.(*)
