TIMESINDONESIA, LUMAJANGKopi Luwak, or well known by the foreigners as Civet Coffee is such a good commodity in Indonesia. The civet usually caged and fed with coffee cherries. But in Lumajang you will find Kopi Luwak that has been digested by a feral civet.  

For you who still a bit unfamiliar with Kopi Luwak, Kopi Luwak is a coffee that consists of partially digested coffee cherries, which have been eaten and defecated by the Asian palm civet. It is therefore also called civet coffee.

The coffee that has been fermented as they pass through a civet's intestines, and after being defecated with other fecal matter then being collected and processed to be the quality of coffee in the world.

Rival Muzaqi, a local guy of Nguter, Pasirian, Lumajang who lives near a forest with lust of coffee trees took a chance aby collecting the coffee cherries that has been digested by the feral civet.

He has been doing the business for more than 5 years. He has such a lucrative that give him millions of rupiah in a month. He could get around 1 kg of coffee in a day by collecting it from the nearest forest.

“Each pax of 200 grams will cost you around IDR 130 K,” Rival said. He sometimes got an order of Kopi Luwak (Civet Coffee) from the neighbouring country such as Malaysia and Singapore. You could find him on social media and order his Kopi Luwak Liar or feral Civet Coffee from there. (*)
