Jawa Timur Park 2 Brings Out Tiger Tunnel on Tiger Day

TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – On Tiger Day, Jawa Timur Park 2 made a tiger tunnel to make their visitors be able to see their white Sumatran tiger closer. The tunnel was made see through right upon the visitor’s lane, so the visitors could see the tiger if they pass across the tunnel.  

The tunnel was 70 meters long put on the visitor’s lane and some of them wreathe the exhibit. You hear the tiger roar clearly when he passes above you. Its feel like you are in a safari island.   

“You could feed the tiger while he was in his tunnel. Of course, with the supervision of our zookeeper,” GM JTP 2, Agus Mulyanto said.

Meanwhile, the tiger on the exhibit named as Rahul. He is 15-year-old and is one of 600 white Sumatran tigers left in the world. Their existence was endangered for deforestation, irresponsible hunting and smuggle.

For now, Batu Secret Zoo of Jawa Timur Park 2 has taken a role in conserving the tiger existence. They even joined International Breeding Program to save this endangered species.

Up until now, Jawa Timur Park 2 has had around 29 tigers on their exhibits. All f them are well taken cared. “We are their last defence. And I hope that there will be more people care for their existence,” Agus Mulyanto ended. (*)
