Shangri-La Hotel Holds Disable Motorcycle Indonesia for Social Act

TIMESINDONESIA, SURABAYA – Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya commits to helps to local community to be more aware towards Covid-19 issues. They took Disable Motorcycle Indonesia community to work with them and help them with the garment.

The mask they produced will be delivered to the homeless, the poor, orphanage, and those unemployed in Jakarta and Surabaya. There are around 200.000 masks has been produced by them.

“I’m so happy that Shangri-La gave me a chance to take a part in this noble act. It also helps me during this hard time of pandemic,” Saifuddin Zuhri the Deputy of Disable Motorcycle Indonesia (DMI) said on Tuesday (14/7/2020).

The masks were produced from unused clean old linen from the hotel bedsheet or pillow sheet. This was also one of their way to reduced the waste.

According to Jonathan Reynolds, the General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya, this was as one of their way to help others who can’t afford to buy masks during this pandemic. They would also like to help the disable community to earn some money by taking their help on the sewing process.

Beside all these things, Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya also has a new program named ‘Shangri-La Cares’ for all of their guests. This program dedicated for all their guests to show their genuine care through an utmost service and hospitality. (*)
