TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTACheese has been a favorite food for most people. Several researches prove that cheese has many health benefits. In fact, consuming cheese will prevent heart diseases, stoke, and other illnesses.

Quoted from Klik Dokter, a study published in European Journal of Nutrition stated that people who consume medium portion of cheese daily will have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke than those who do not consume cheese.

Besides, the good bacteria in cheese can reduce inflammation, thus reducing the risk of several diseases.

The research with more than 200 thousands people resulted that those who consume cheese daily had a 14% lower risk of coronary heart disease and a 10% lower risk of stroke when compared to those who do not consume cheese. According to this research, the optimal portion of cheese that you should consume is 40 gram daily.

A study published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that the people who consume cheese have a lower level of total cholesterol than those who consume butter.

In addition, those who eat cheese have a cholesterol level that is the same as those who are on a low-fat diet. However, the mechanism of this finding is not known for certain. It is assumed that this is resulted by the high level of calcium in cheese.

In other studies, it is proven that high calcium level in dairy product can lower the level of LDL without affecting the level of HDL, which is good for your heart health. Therefore, it can be concluded that consuming cheese in medium portion can make someone healthier. (*)
