TIMESINDONESIA, BATU – Do you want to see how the local community of Batu, Malang live back then? Then you need to visit Kampung Lawas (Old Village) at Giripurno, Batu, Malang, East Java. This village offers the beauty old town of Malang.

Kampung Lawas had just been launched on Sunday (5/7/2020). This village not only offers the beauty of old town but also some local traditional food and snack with exotic taste. Those food such as Cenil (chewy snack made of tapioca flour), rujak uleg (fruit salad with peanut sauce), other snack with peanut sauce and some vegetable with curry gravy.

The staff also wearing a traditional outfit such as kebaya, and blangkon (a traditional hat). They are also equipped with mask, face shield, and gloves to minimize physical contact. The management also provide a sink for everyone to wash their hand.

They also asked all of the visitors to wear a mask and keep physical distancing. This add the visitors trust towards their products and make feel more comfortable enjoying the place and their food.

The scenery around is so wonderful, plus, they have a spring water pool namely known as Taman Umbul. There is a tenant that rent a MTB for you look around and ride across the green rice field. They also have some traditional cultural show to welcome the visitors.

“All the equipment we have here are all from our family and friends. And we also got some from Bumiaji,” Heru, the manager of Kampung Lawas, Batu, Malang, East Java said. (*)
