TIMESINDONESIA, PONOROGO – Coffee shops are sprouting in Ponorogo, a regency in East Java, Indonesia, with their own concepts and characteristics. One of the most unique coffee shops located in Jalan Sentot Prawiro Dirjo is Joklitik Coffee Shop, a comfortable coffee shop with a classic concept.
This classic branding represents the artistic soul of the owner, Dwi Sutrisno, who is also known as Joklitik. He was born in Blitar, East Java, from the Ketoprak comedian family, Siswo Budoyo.
“Javanese people tend to like places with classic concept,” said Dwi Sutrisno.
Joklitik, who has the interest on both culinary and art, decided to establish a coffee shop with a classic concept shown in the furniture and the uniform of the staff. He wanted to use this coffee shop as a medium for artists to gather.
“This coffee shop has gained much interest from the society in Ponorogo. In fact, since its establishment two years ago, we already have 12 staff. All of them are artists,” he explained.
By establishing this coffee shop, he wants to give motivation to his staff to expand their business orientation other than art. He thinks that art sector will not last forever.
Everything can be modified to be something better. Of course, we have to make sure that it is within our ability. In fact, Ponorogo has much local potential. “I hope there will be more business established in Ponorogo,” Joklitik said to TIMES Indonesia. (*)
