TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Indonesian have two different young coconuts with same size and shape but different in color and taste. It's so called ad the regular young coconut and the young green coconut.

Some people would have difficulty in differentiate those two since it has same shape and size. But, the most common are you could see it by the outer shell.

The regular one has smooth green outer shell and the young green coconut has a leafy green outer shell. As its opened the young green coconut fiber will look pinky. As the regular will just look like any regular coconut you find.

The local community use this young green coconut for several purposes. They believe it could raise your immune system.

"Its good for asthma, to treat your kidney stone, and boost your energy. And I believe it's a good drink to have during this coronavirus outbreak," Ali, a young green coconut shop owner in Demak said.

Meanwhile, according to Livestrong, the young coconut meat contains high saturated fat that could prevent fat storage.

It's also high in fiber that will help you relieve constipation, adds bulk to stools, normalizes blood sugar levels and lowers levels of bad cholesterol.

Furthermore, young coconut contain significantly more water than mature coconuts. It means that it's a good dehydrator whenever you feeling thirsty or lack of water in a day. (*)
