TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – By Saturday (4/4/2020) there has been around 1.986 Indonesian infected by coronavirus. The government has taken some action to protect their citizen by spreading some ways to protect themselves, one of them is by wearing face mask wherever they go.
However, does face mask could help you to get away from coronavirus? The answer probably, yes if you are lucky enough, and no, if you happened to do a physical contact with people positive with coronavirus and doesnt clean yourself after it.
“Face mask wouldn't kill the virus, it's only protect you from getting the virus. And keeping your hands and body clean is the key to kill the virus," Yuri a staff of National Disaster Management Authority said on Wednesday (1/4/2020).
Hand is the dirtiest place that has the biggest chance to spread the virus to our body. Our hand could touch the virus without we even notice. Then when it touch our face (especially mouth, nose or eyes) there then the virus begin to attack our body.
Yuri emphasized everyone to wash their hand regularly with soap especially after they touch things at their house, at work, or any public facilities. He also asked everyone to follow social distancing rule forced by the government for their own safety.
"The bottom line is, face mask only protect you from coronavirus, but won't heal you or keep you away from the virus, so just keep yourself clean and follow the government instructions," Yuri added. (*)
