Watch this New COVID-19 Tracing and People Mobility Analysis System

TIMESINDONESIA, YOGYAKARTA – A new mobile app that could speed tracing of the new coronavirus through communities is being developed. This app has two main features namely known as COVID-19 Tracing and People Mobility Analysis System.

This app was developed by the students of Gajah Mada University Yogyakarta supported by Ministry of Health, Indosat Ooredo, PT Global Data Inspirasi (Datains), and PT Gamatechno.

The app works by searching the phone numbers of people within a certain distance of the person who infected by coronavirus. This app will let people know who carries what and where.

This app will also let the user find out which person suspected or infected by coronavirus. This app quite accurate since it use triangulation algorithms in counting, which is way better than the data taken with BTS ( Base Transsceiver Station).

Meanwhile, People Mobility Analysis gives a broader range of people mobility from one place to another. The data was also taken by monitoring the people through their phone movement.

"This app will be launched on April, and it would have to be part of a larger suite of tools and programs for contact tracing deployed by governments," Widyawan, S.T., Ph.D., Director of Directorate of Information Systems UGM said on Tuesday (31/3/2020).

This app could be a good optional measure to find out where and whom got infected by the virus. COVID-19 Tracing and People Mobility Analysis were hope to be able to give a chance of stopping the epidemic. (*)
