TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Mie ayam a.k.a chicken noodle is a popular food in Indonesia. You could find it in almost every corner of the country either as push-cart food or a menu at fancy restaurants. So does, Mie Ayam Pelangi in a food shop in Demak.

Mie ayam is basically a chicken soup cooked in aromatic spices. So humble yet so satisfying on every level. Its served in an aromatic soup and topped with shredded chicken meat and other toppings.

A small food shop at Perumahan Bintoro Asri Blok K92, Demak owned by Iva Haniva attracts their customers by making a beautiful colorful noodle from a natural food color. Haniva uses spinach, lettuces, carrot, and sweet potato as the main source of the color for her noodle.

Apparently, during this social distancing rule forced by the government, her food shop keep receiving more and more order from her loyal customers. "Most of them order it online to avoid the crowd," Haniva said.

Still according to her, she could get IDR 200 K profit each day from her business. Beside Mie Ayam Pelangi, Haniva of Demak also served another noodle variety such as chicken feet noodle, beef noodle, fried noodle, and meatball noodle that you could afford starting from IDR 8 K to IDR 12 K. (*)
