An MoU Signed for Sister City Cooperation Between Denpasar and Mossel BayRabu, 04 Desember 2019 - 01:16 | 31.20k
TIMESINDONESIA, DENPASAR – In order to strengthen the economy and cultural cooperation, the local government of Denpasar signed an MoU for Sister City cooperation with the local government of Mossel Bay, South Africa. The MoU was signed on Wednesday (27/11/2019).
The MoU was signed by The Mayor of Denpasar, Ida Bagus Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra and The Mayor of Mossel Bay, Alderman Harry Levendal at the Diaz Hotel Mossel Bay, South Africa.
Several officials from both of the country such as Minister of Agriculture Western Cape, Hon. Dr. Ivan Meyer, Indonesian Ambassador for South Africa Salman Al Farisi and The Indonesian General Consult in Cape Town, Krishna Adi Poetranto were also attending the ceremony.
As a result, both of the city will be engaged in several programs such as sharing the event calendars, forming some co-branding, conducting some business forum, advertisements, and line of communication between both cities.
"For this cooperation, both of the local government of the city will give benefits to each other for the cities' sake especially on the area of development and welfare," The Indonesian General Consult in Cape Town, Krishna Adi Poetranto said.
To respect the MoU, the local Government of Mossel Bay even made a special meeting room called 'Denpasar' on their office. They even will name one of the main road on the city as 'Denpasar Street'. The road is still in on going process and was estimated to be finished in 2020. The Mayor will also put a statue that symbolizes the city on one of the corner of the road.
"We put a high hope on this cooperation to solve the development issues for both of the city," The Mayor of Mossel Bay, Alderman Harry Levendal said towards the MoU of Mossel Bay cooperation with Denpasar. (*)
