Choose Your Best Batik Outfit and Visit Banyuwangi Batik Festival

TIMESINDONESIA, BANYUWANGI – Banyuwangi Batik Festival (BBF) will be held by tomorrow on Saturday (23/11/2019). This event will take place at the Gesibu Blambangan, Banyuwangi.

On the occasion, the event will bring up the Blarak Sempal (broken palm leaves) Batik motive. This event was intended to raise the competitiveness of the local MSME to stick in their claw.

"There will be 115 beautiful batik clothes worn by dozens of model on the catwalk. We will take all the local enterpreneurs to compete on this event with international scale designer," The Mayor of Banyuwangi Abdullah Azwar Anas said.

Still according to him, the local government also invited Samuel Watimena, an international scale designer which has been known well with its Batik designs.

Samuel planned to bring 10 of his designs to the event and show them on the cat walk. He will also be one of the keynote speaker on the workshop held on the event.

Sanet Sabintang, Isyam Syamsi, Ridho, Olys, and several students of vocational school in Banyuwangi will also participate in this event and show their designs on the Catwalk.

The local designers will be asked to give two of their designs, one with casual style and the other for working suits. Some events to support the Banyuwangi Batik Festival has been precedingly held by the local government such as Batik design competition (20/11), batik worshop for vocational school (30/10 – 5/11), to Fashion on the Pedestrian (22/11).
