Department of Malang Tourism and Culture Held Malang Tourism Award

TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – Department of Malang Tourism and Culture (Disparbud Malang) held Malang Tourism Award to show appreciation to tourism operators.

The appreciation was held on Friday (15/11/2019) in the Hall of Malang, Kepanjen. The Regent of Malang, Drs HM Sanusi, MM, gave the award.

The Head of Disparbud Malang, Dr. Made Arya Wedanthara, SH, M.Si, said that this event was aimed to show appreciation to all components of tour operators in Malang that had managed to provide a good tourism atmosphere and facilities in Malang.

 “We expect that this award can motivate the tour operators to improve their service and facilities,” said Made.

He explained that Malang Tourism Award was divided into four, namely Culture Department, Marketing Department, Industry Development Department, and Tourism Destination Department.

 “Each department will divide the award into three categories and three nominations,” said Made.

Industry Department consists of hotels, homestay, culinary, and travel. Meanwhile the Tourism Destination Department consists of Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), tourism attractions, and tourism villages.

Culture Department consists of artists, historical heritage conservation, and traditional ceremonies. Lastly, the Marketing Department consists of best event tourism category, best supporting community, and best media tourism.

Made expected that Malang Tourism Award can become a good motivation for the tour operators to improve their service and facilities. (*)
