Blang Bleng Percussion Hype Up the Getih Getah Gula Klapa Festival of Blitar

TIMESINDONESIA, BLITAR – On the Getih Getah Gula Klapa, the Blang Bleng Percussion group of Blitar hype up the festival with their forceful and dynamic music. The festival which was held on Saturday (17/11/2019) got so much attention from the people.  

On the night of the Festival held, Simping Temple's yard, the place where the festival was full of people. The Blang Bleng Percussion which entertained the audience on the festival managed to hypnotize all the audience with their powerful music.

"Blang Bleng is a local percussionists of Blitar, they also used local instrument of Blitar named as the Gendang Jimbe," Rahmanto Adi, Project Manager of Getih Getah Gula Klapa said.

Still according to him, the group was willingly to volunteer themself to perform on this event for free. They said it was the only way to show their support for this event as well to preserve the local culture.

This is also one of their way to introduce the Gendang Jimbe as one local instrument of Blitar to the world. Gendang Jimbe is is a rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum played with bare hands.

Beside the Blang Bleng Percussion, several local traditional dance, poetry reading, and Majapahit's heirlooms parade were also shown at the On the Getih Getah Gula Klapa, the Blang Bleng Percussion group of Blitar hype up the festival with their forceful and dynamic music.
