Tourism Industry Back in Town After Ijen Crater Nature Park Reopened

TIMESINDONESIA, BANYUWANGIIjen Crater Nature Park which located in between Banyuwangi and Bondowoso border has been reopened for public after being temporarily closed due to forest fires for several days.

The Ijen Crater was closed for 18 days starting from October 20th 2019. It was officially opens for public on November 7th 2019. The opening makes tourism industries and several local mines back in action.

The closing made several tourism industry such as tour and travel agency lost their income. Several tourist must turned back and cancel their schedule.

"Thanks goodness, it's now been reopened. It means we can work like we used to. There has been plenty demand to see this beautiful blue fire during the closing," owner of Jalan Jalan travel agency, Ferdi Ridha Adin (23) said on Friday (8/11/2019).

Still according to her, during the closing, she had tried to offer another tourist destination to the travelers. But, this ain't cure their longing of the blue flame. She feel bad for disappointing her customers.

"I offered them another destination such as Hutan Djawatan, Pantai Pulau Merah, and Teluk Hijau, which known to has a beautiful scenery too, but there's nothing compared to the blue fire" she added.

Meanwhile, after being reopened the local management of the Ijen Crater Nature Park Banyuwangi asked the agencies or tourist who travel by their own to stay in contact and not to litter their cigar anywhere. (*)
