Nyadran as One of Tradition Held by The Tengger at the Karo Feast Day

TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – Thousands of the Tengger community in Ngadas, Poncokusumo, Malang visit the graveyard on the Nyadran Day. This tradition is held annually by the local citizen to honor the Karo Feast Day.

The Nyadran which was conducted together on Sunday (22/9/2019) is held to preserve the local culture as well to strengthen the bound between the member of the community.

Lots of official such as The Mayor of Malang Drs HM Sanusi MM, The Head of Touris Department of Malang, Made Arya Wedanthara and some local figure attending the event.

All the people attending the event are wearing their newest clothes and bringing some food for the feast at the Graveyard. Meanwhile some of the public figure will wear a traditional custom with a black shirt and sarong, also a custom headdress of Tengger.

Beside strengthening the bound between the member of the community the city mayor also hope that this Nyadran on the Karo Feast Day could give a good benefit to the tourism sector in Malang especially Tengger.(*)
