TIMESINDONESIA, KEDIRI – The Selomangkleng Cave or namely known by the Goa Selomangleng by the local citizen is one of huge cave in Kediri. This cave is made of very large black andesite stone which make it has a creepy look from the outside.

The andesite stone which has become the main structure of this cave made it has no stalagmites like what other cave has. This cave was believed by the local community as a sacred place where a princess named Dewi Kilisuci spend her time for some ascetic.

"We could do some history tracking on this cave, where Dewi Kilisuci was believed to ascetic in this cave long ago. Meanwhile, we could also visit the Museum Airlangga which is located not far from here," Andi a local tourist said on Monday (22/7/2019).

According to the folklore, Dewi Kilisuci is a princess, daughter of King Airlangga which declined the throne she inherits. She prefer to spend her time asceticing in the cave rather than thinking of world stuff.

In addition, the Selomangleng Cave Kediri is also located in the same area with the Museun Airlangga which become the place to restore all the Kadiri, Singosari and Majapahit Kingdom. While enjoying the sightseeing in the cave you could also enlarge your knowledge by visiting this museum.(*)
