Rendang and Opor? Here is the Right Way to Keep it Last Longer

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Either Opor a.k.a Chicken curry or Rendang has become one of Indonesian must to serve food on the table when Lebaran or IED Fitri comes. But this food especially opor is not an easy food to be heated when there are leftover. Here are several tips for you on how to cook Opor and Rendang in a proper way. 

Chicken curry or Opor

To avoid the greasy look and and the sauce breaking, try to follow this steps to ease you during the Lebaran.

1. Cook the chicken together with the paste mixture and all ingredients needed.

2. Cook it in medium raw and then keep it in the freezer.

3. Before it served, heat and Nestle it in to a pan and add the coconut milk on low heat for about 40 minutes.

Rendang

Rendang has been voted as the world's best food by CNnN's World in 2017. It awesome taste was a manifest of the hard work where it took long time to cook it. Here are several ways to make the Rendang last longer for several days.

1. Vook it in regular way. Make sure the beef is soft enough.

2. Do not cook it to dry, a little bit soggy is preferable.

3. It's better for you if you keep it while it still has the gravy so it will be easier for you to heat it.

4. Keep it on the freezer, and it's better if you keep it in portion so u wont need to thaw them all, only the one you need. rendang dalam wadah bersih. Jika ingin

5. Thaw it the night before you heat it back.

6. Heat it on low heat until it dry.

Make sure both Rendang and Opor or Chicken curry are kept in a clean container because it will affecting how long will the be in your freezer. (*)
