Wow! NusaFest 2019 Wuhan Took The Foreigners Eyes

TIMESINDONESIA, WUHAN – Indonesian Students Community at Wuhan China held the annual event Nusantara Festival or the NusaFest 2019 on Sunday, (21/4/2019). This event was held at the Huazhong University of Agricultural hall.

"This annual event is awaited not only by the Indonesian students who study here but also by the local society. This event is intended to introduce the Indonesian culture and art to the world, especially the Chinese, since China has become the biggest country who sent their tourist to Indonesia," Habibi Salim, the head of PPI wuhan said.

Several Indonesian cuisine like Mie Aceh (Acehnese Noodle), Tempe Chips, vegetables spring rolls with peanut sauce, fried egg satay, Happy Soda, and Indonesian Coffe and several traditional game from Indonesia like count and capture, game of Jacks, and marble in spoon race were also performed and introduced on the event.

There are also two cosplay resembele Reog Ponorogo which was modified by Pierre Rangga Dirgantara,a student of Master of Art Wuhan University of Technology which was very popular among the visitor. An interactive quiz was also conducted during the event to attract the visitors.

“Who knows the name of President of Indonesia?" An Afro guy came forward and gave the answered it with her foreigner accent "Joko Widodo". He managed to bring an Indonesian batik home

Contemporary dance was also performed at the event, like Warak Dudger, Ratu Jaroeh, Torajan Dance, Balinese, Mappadendanga and Pencak silat. The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism also put one of their both there which display several traditional Indonesian ingredients, batik, and puppet doll.

"NusaFest 2019 Wuhan is not only for Indonesian students who study in China but also for every communities that live in China, we all are the same, and we would like to share the happiness wit you all," Pierre Rangga Dirgantara said.(*)
