TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – No rice, no life!! That's the best thing to describe Indonesian. Almost all Indonesian consume white rice as their main menu on every single time of meal, wether on breakfast, lunch or dinner. Like there was no alternatives beside white rice.

American KFC will served burger along with the chicken, but in Indonesia you will find rice with the chicken. However contain lots of glucose which is not quiet good for your body. Therefore you need to change it several time in a week to avoid diabetes. Here are some alternatives.

1. Brown rice

Brown rice has a higher fiber than white rice. It contain 3.5 grams of fiber every 50 grams. While white rice only contain 0.6 every 50 grams. Meanwhile it's also rich with vitamin B lot more than the white rice.

2. Whole wheat

Whole wheat is made from grain that is rich in protein and free of gluten. It is also easy to cook and can be incorporated into the everyday dishes prepared across the country. The grain is rich in protein, magnesium, vitamin B2, fibre and has a low glycemic index. So use this in place of white rice and reap maximum benefits from it

3. Potato

Potato as it ould be grown across the world could also be a good alternatives to swap the white rice. The calories are lower as well as the glucose. Potato also has higher fiber than the white. It also rich with vitamin B6, thiamine, riboflavin, folate, and vitamin C. (*)
