Kue Lumpur Tuban, The Traditional Cake with International Taste

TIMESINDONESIA, TUBAN – Kue Lumpur, the Indonenesian traditional cake from Sidoarjo, is made of wheat flour, sugar, coconut milk, salt, egg, and some secret ingredients. This traditional cake becomes the favorite of Indonesian youths, especially the residents in Tuban Bumi Wali.

This traditional cake that has an international taste becomes viral and it becomes the favorite of people in East Java.

Seeing the high demand of Kue Lumpur, one of the residents in Tuban, Ernawati, decided to open a branch in the city called Bumi Wali.

The branch store of Kue Lumpur named “Muda-mudi” in Sidoarjo, Tuban, is located in Jalan Basuki Ramhad 299. This shop is always crowded with visitors.

 “The taste is really scrumptious. It is different from other cakes. When it is eaten, it melts in the mouth,” said one of the buyers, Suwandi.

This cake also has a unique production process. After all the ingredients are mixed, they put into a mold and it is cooked by using traditional cooking utensils.

That’s why Ernawati’s Kue Lumpur, which has seven flavors, has a solid texture on the outside and it melts inside the mouth when it is eaten.

 “There are various flavors of the cake, such as original, jackfruit, green tea, durian, chocolate, and cheese,” said Ernawati

Besides, this cake shop also has two new flavors. “We have palmyra fruit and pumpkin flavor which become the characteristic of Kue Lumpur Muda-Mudi in Tuban,” he added.

This Kue Lumpur has an affordable price, which is IDR 25,000 for each box that contains 10 pieces of cake with original flavor, and IDR 30,000 for each box that contains 10 pieces of cake with various flavors. You can find this cake shop in Tuban Bumi Wali. (*)
