SEAHUM Committee Will Held The 3rd Annual General Meeting in Yogyakarta

TIMESINDONESIA, YOGYAKARTA – Yogyakarta has been honored to become the host of the 3rd Annual General Meeting of Southeast Asia Humanitarian (SEAHUM) Commitee. The member of the organisation are mostly coming from Southeast Asia country. The meeting will be held in 3 days from February 21 to 23 at Hotel Inna Garuda, Jalan Malioboro No. 60 Yogyakarta.

There will be around 50 delegations coming from around the world attending this meeting. 30 of them are coming from the Southeast Asia country like Indonesia, Phillipines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia. There are also some delegations from Bangladesh as the honorable guest.

"Yogyakarta has been succesfully recover their infrastructure, economy, and tourism assets quickly especially after the catasthrope and earthquake struct this city on 2006 that took 6.000 lives of the citizens. Those has become the main reason why they chose this city as the host of 3rd ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING SEAHUM," Amin Sudarsono, executive director of Southeast Asia Humanitarian (SEAHUM) said.

Amin Sudarsono also said that this meeting will discuss the handling and prevention of humanity crisis. This is in line with he SEAHUM vision itself which is to strengthen the cooperation and human dignity. Whereas the mission is to give solutions for the catastrophe victims and poverty through coordination and the increase of cooperation between humanity comittees along the Southeast Asia country.

There has been some humanitarian based oganisations  from Indonesia that join SEAHUM like Rumah Zakat, Dompet Dhuafa, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT), PKPU Human Initiative, Yayasan Dana Sosial Al Falah, PAHAM (Pusat Advokasi Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia) Indonesia, Lazis Dewan Da’wah, and SNH Law Office.

Also, some humanity group from Malaysia will join the meeting like MYCare Malaysia, Pertubuan Haluan Malaysia, and Yayasan Amal Malaysia.

Some of the members of SEAHUM that will attend this 3rd Annual General Meeting in Yogyakarta are HARFA Foundation Banten, YBM PLN, Laznas LMI, Lazis Wahdah, LAZ Al-Azhar, Laznas BSM, STF UIN Jakarta. And joining from across country are The Council for Humanitarian Network of Shekhul Islam Office Thailand, Ummatee Foundation Thailand, Rohingya Foundation Myanmar, Timor Leste Muslim Community, Global Ehsan Foundation Singapore, BAPA Relief Singapore, ANTAR Bangladesh. (*)
