Evan, the owner of Angkringan Raden Mas 87 said that he purely adapt the menus from the angkringan at Jogjakarta Central Java, including the coffee too. “It’s no longer a secret that angkringan is originally came from Jogja, Central Java. So we try to give a real Central Java taste for the customers here in Malang,” Evan told TIMES Indonesia (timesindonesia.co.id).

The Kopi Joss was started to be sold at 1970s at Jogjakarta. The word “Joss” itself was taken from the sizzling sound of the red hot lump charcoal when it dumped in to a glass of black coffee. Surely it will be boiled for several seconds after the red hot lump charcoal added, that’s why the customers must to wait for several times after it to drink it.

Kopi Joss has its own special taste, with only a little sugar and a red hot lump charcoal added to the black coffee this make the coffee taste more light and unique. According to ‘doktersehat’ an online health consultant, this coffee could help us prevent some stomachache and sickness.
