TIMESINDONESIA, PONOROGO – No day without Rice is may be the best words to describe the way Indonesian people eat. Rice has become a must to served food for ndonesian if they are talking about food.

Concerning to this issue D’Ritz Restaurant Ponorogo try to make some evolution regarding the rice which is combining the rice with a purple sweet potato.

This Restaurant is located at Ponorogo City Centre (PCC). Around 4 hours from Surbaya by car. This Purple rice makes this restaurant well known as a restaurant that use purple sweet potato as their main ingredient.

“At first, we only want to make something special for all the guests, and then we came out with this idea,” Mr. Gongot Subianto, the official chef at D’Ritz said on Wednesday (16/1/2019).

This idea came out when a guest asked them about their diet menu. So they conduct a little research and finally the purple sweet potato become the  best choiche among others to fulfill the basic need of carbs for a dietary menu. This potato will make the consumers feels satisfied longer than it should be.

It is so easy to make this purple rice. We only need to take the juice from the sweet potato which has been steamed first and added it to the rice before it is cooked along with the pandan, a lil bit of salt, sugar, and also some coconut milk.

Then we only need to cook it the way we usually cook a rice.

Served along with some smoked chickens or fried eggs on top of it, this purple rice by D’Ritz Restaurant Ponorogo City Centre will costs us around IDR 20.000. (*)
